Years Experience: 42
Wendie McAllaster skillfully applies her diverse education in Urban Planning, Historic Preservation, and Landscape Architecture to a broad range of project types and client needs. She successfully integrates the planning, technical, and design disciplines throughout each phase of a project, resulting in comprehensive and creative solutions. Wendie’s expertise in Historic Preservation Planning, Cultural Landscapes, and Historic Landscape Design is unique in Hawai‘i. She was integrally involved with four award-winning preservation projects and has been the primary author and project manager of over 25 preservation-related projects at HHF.
Wendie treasures the extensive travel experiences throughout the Pacific and US mainland for military and preservation-related projects. Her fondest memories are the two weeks on Wake Island, trekking through the scrub forests and rocky shorelines to locate, document, and photograph the cultural landscape of this National Historic Landmark. Weekend fun included sailing in the idyllic lagoon and learning to Scuba dive within the atoll’s barrier reef.
