Jason Chun is a planner who has worked with non-profits, communities and government agencies while researching environmental and disaster planning at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. His multi-disciplinary outlook recognizes the need for good planning and collaboration to create sustainable and resilient communities. Jason has expertise in geographic information systems (GIS), facilitation, and disaster planning.
Prior to joining HHF, Jason worked as a graduate research assistant providing analytical, research and field related work for the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center. He has worked on flood mitigation planning projects in Hawai‘i and has performed asset accounting and surveying for the Waikīkī Business Improvement District Association. During that time, he refined his skill in GIS analysis and visualization, data management and community planning. He has also worked as a legislative aide for the Hawai‘i State Legislature and has supported non-profit organizations through research and conservation efforts.
In his free time you can find Jason in the water or on a trail.
