Dane Sjoblom, AICP
Principal | Vice President
Years Experience: 15
Dane Sjoblom has broad experience in facility and land use planning throughout the Hawaiian Islands, the wider Pacific region, and in the U.S. Territories. He has prepared land use permit applications, environmental impact analyses, facility assessments and economic analyses for federal, state, and county agencies as well as private clients. Dane has particular experience in hazard mitigation and community resilience planning, which includes participation in the 2015 Hawai‘i County Hazard Mitigation Plan update and integration of planning elements into the General Plan update, assisting with land entitlement and encumbrance analysis for a Maui power plant hardening analysis, and was instrumental in the preparation of the American Samoa Tsunami Study (APA Chapter and Pacific Risk Management ‘Ohana Partnership awards), and has also received special training in Resilient Building Design for Coastal Communities.
Dane is currently engaged with a multi-territory initiative focused on repairing schools and building community capacity. Most memorable site visit: being dropped off by helicopter on a narrow ridge in a remote section of the Ko‘olau Mountains; best local dish while on field travel: homemade palusami in American Samoa.
