The purpose of this community plan is twofold: to provide general design guidance; and to prioritize future physical improvement projects within Kahalu‘u. The plan must also address the community’s concerns related to physical, social, or urban design and transportation issues.
To address those concerns, the work plan included six meetings with a citizen Advisory Working Group, four larger community-wide meetings, and several presentations to the Kahalu‘u Neighborhood Board. To distribute information as widely as possible, DPP hosted a website that posted all work products and public meeting notices.
