HHF Planners (HHF) is currently supporting efforts to assess power generating station flooding and tsunami risk vulnerability. Through tsunami modeling and engineering analysis, a team of subject matter experts is quantifying potential 100-year tsunami impacts and developing structural mitigation alternatives to protect the facilities of a coastally located power plant. HHF’s extensive land use policy experience is being applied to help investigate and report on anticipated county, state, federal and agency regulatory requirements to inform mitigation alternative selection. Project objectives include determining a preferred mitigation option to protect critical power plant operations, identify required permits and studies, and develop a preliminary schematic design and cost estimates for adaptive tsunami mitigation.
