Hawaiian Humane Society Second Facility Plan

Location: Oahu, Hawaii

Client: Hawaiian Humane Society

In support of the Humane Society’s objective to better serve Oahu residents, Helber Hastert & Fee prepared a site selection study to identify appropriate sites for a “satellite” facility, produced a conceptual plan for the facility, and documented a methodology that could be used in the future by HHS. The approach considered short-term and long-term use of a second site so as not to preclude phased expansion.

The site selection study involved a planning analysis of the existing and proposed facility requirements; preparation of functional relationship diagrams; delineation of a study area and a systematic identification and evaluation of possible sites within the area; and conceptual plans and cost estimates for a second facility.
