David R. Curry, AICP


Years Experience: 36

David Curry is Vice-President of HHF. He joined the company in 1988 and became a principal in 1999. He specializes in facility and land use master planning, community planning, waterfront planning, site analyses, and feasibility assessments. His work includes a broad spectrum of land and facility analyses that have considered the relocation of U.S. Marine Corps units from Okinawa to Guam, the global impact on U.S. submarine operations resulting from the Department of Defense decision to realign forces to the Pacific, and the creation of an Area Development Plan to guide redevelopment of family housing areas on Okinawa. He also has experience with socioeconomic impact assessments. He has analyzed numerous Hawai‘i resort development projects and was instrumental in the preparation of the State of Hawai‘i’s site selection study for the Hawai‘i Convention Center. Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Hawai‘i Chapter of the American Planning Association. Dave currently serves as the Principal-in-Charge for the Kawainui-Hamakua Marsh Master Plan Update that involves extensive community outreach to various local organizations and individuals on the Windward side of O‘ahu.

Community Involvement

Former Chair of the Kailua Urban Design Task Force, a design advisory of organization in his hometown of Kailua, Hawai‘i.
